Our Story
I think we all can agree that school has changed since we were kids. I remember my father handing me a notebook with a list of multiplication tables, and telling me to „learn this„.
Every new grade prompted an increase in homework, and more memorization. I was always anxious about the parent-teacher interview. These days, homework is rare, calculators and
smart phones can answer any math question, and „student-led„ teacher-parent interviews offer little opportunity for individualized learning plans. Busy schedules and extra-curricular
activities make it difficult to keep up with our kids‘ education. Tutors and Learning centres are expensive, and children often fear the stigma or embarrassment of asking for help.
My children would usually inform me about school tests the night before they were to take place, leaving us no time to prepare. There was often a 2-week lag time in receiving the
results; which allowed us no opportunity to discuss where improvements could be made, and re-teach the problem areas. Even worse, the students were already moving on to the next
unit, and the apprehension of completing the last assessment poorly would be carried forward. I have witnessed my children‘s anxiety leading up to the standardized math
test. I couldn‘t offer any help, not knowing how and what was being tested. I think we‘ve all had the feeling that these tests are tricky, and designed to makes students feel
less than adequate. Again, a vicious spiral preventing kids from succeeding.
Rubrik has created software that will allow families the opportunity to control and monitor their children‘s success rates on standardized tests.
Rubrik software allows students to take sample tests and answer questions at their own pace, in their own home, at their own convenience. The wording, methodology, and
content matches exactly what they‘ll face during the standardized test. Our immediate feedback system permits parents to pinpoint the problem areas, and celebrate the
successes for each unit in their grade. Students will gain confidence, increase their knowledge, and be fully prepared for the standardized test. Anxiety, defeat and low test scores
will be a thing of the past.
